Mission
The Property Owners' Association, Inc. (POA) is The Villages' original property owners' group. Established in 1975, the POA operates completely independently from the Developer of The Villages. Membership is open to all property owners and residents of The Villages. The POA is committed to acting as a watchdog to ensure that the Developer and local government are responsive to the needs, interests, and rights of residents. Reporting, explaining, and acting on behalf of the residents. Most often, we can do that in a civil and collaborative manner.
Vision
The Property Owners’ Association, Inc. (POA) is a champion for the residents' rights of The Villages. Guided by member input, investigation, and determination, the POA brings attention to and acts on issues that may impact property values and quality of life.

Presidents Message
Welcome to the Property Owners Association (POA) of the Villages website. The POA is the original owners’ group in The Villages that was established in 1975. The POA operates with complete independence from the Developer of The Villages and is a champion for the rights of Village residents.
We are your advocate and watchdog…preserving the promise through action, results, and accountability. We bridge communities (example: worked with Village Homeowners Advocates and Community Improvement Council to have the Developer construct the first bridge in The Villages – over Hwy 441). We protect home and property values (example: worked to get 1,600 homeowners new siding when the POA determined it had been installed improperly). We push for transparency (example: working to get all districts to video record their monthly meetings). We advocate for fairness in finances and local governments (example: led pushback on 25% property tax increase and flawed funding of Independent Fire District).
We are guided by experience and driven by vision…we stay informed, so you can be informed. We accomplish this based on member input in areas such as growth, health, safety, homeowner costs, etc.; with the factual information transmitted via our digital platforms – website, Facebook page, magazine and emails.
